A special CBI court on Monday sent former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia to judicial custody till March 20 in connection with the Delhi politician case.
According to a report, Sisodia was produced before Special Judge MK Nagpal amid heavy security presence in and outside the court after the seven-day CBI remand.
The CBI last week arrested Sisodia in connection with alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the now scrapped liquor policy for 2021-22. The court on Monday remanded Sisodia in CBI custody to enable the agency to get "genuine and legitimate" answers to questions put to him for a "proper and fair investigation".
The judge then said that although the accused had joined the investigation on two earlier occasions, it was found that he was unable to provide satisfactory answers to most of the questions put to him during interrogation and questioning.
"He has failed to legitimately explain the incriminating evidence alleged to have surfaced against him during the investigation so far," the court said.
