SC halts mosque survey orders, restricts lower courts in pending cases
Homebuyers in Noida extension, who are either waiting for possession of their flats or their home registry, met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow on Friday. The chief minister assured home buyers that he would look into the issues related to their house registry and provide them with a “complete solution”, BJP leader and Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh said.
The home buyers met the CM with Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh, who had raised the ongoing crisis in the UP Assembly session a few days ago. The MLA, who has also facilitated meetings between the CM and home buyers in the past, said Adityanath assured the aggrieved residents that their issue was a priority for the government.
“I know the pain of home buyers and after our government came to power, efforts were made for them, and it continues till today. Some cases have been delayed due to legal hurdles, but the government is serious about it, and we are making all efforts to provide a complete solution to the issues of home buyers,” Adityanath said, according to Jewar MLA.
“We still believe that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath can do something good for home buyers. Thousands of buyers are still waiting to own their flats and thousands are getting their flats registered which is very heartbreaking as they have spent their life savings to buy a flat,” said Abhishek Kumar, President of Noida Extension Flat Owner's Welfare Association (NEFOWA).
Numerous home buyers in Greater Noida (West) under the banner of NEFOWA have been holding protests and demonstrations on weekends since last winter to highlight their plight following delays in possession and registration of their houses. During the meeting, NEFOWA representatives apprised the Chief Minister of the issues, especially the delay in registrations, faced by thousands of home buyers in the region.
Representatives of the homeowners' association presented a list of issues they have been facing for more than ten years. “Daily survival has become a challenge for many of those who are still waiting to own their flat. Many middle-class families have spent their life savings to buy a flat. We have requested the CM to intervene in this matter as soon as possible,” said Ranjana Suri Bhardwaj, home buyer and member of NEFOWA.
Dhirendra Singh, MLA Jewar, who raised the issue in the Assembly, said, “The former SP and BSP governments were in cahoots with the builders and the plight of home buyers is the result of these parties' anti-people strategies. We are determined to find a logical solution and under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath solution soon.”
