Mamata Banerjee celebrates Christmas with message of unity, attends midnight mass in Kolkata
In a shocking revelation, the Central Forensic Research Laboratory (CFSL) report stated that the seminar room where the body of a junior doctor was found may not be the actual crime scene. The report, submitted to the CBI, has found no evidence of rape and murder in the seminar room, contradicting initial reports.
According to the CFSL report, there were no signs of scuffle or assault between the deceased and the attacker in the seminar room, including on the blue mattress where the body was found ¹. This raises questions about the investigation conducted by the Special Investigation Team of Kolkata Police and later the CBI.
The junior doctor's body was recovered from the seminar room on August 9, and it was alleged that she was raped and killed by a civic volunteer, Sanjay Roy. The incident led to widespread protests and outrage, with the Calcutta High Court ordering a probe into alleged financial irregularities in the hospital during the tenure of the principal, Ghosh.
The CFSL report's findings have sparked concerns about the accuracy of the initial investigation and the possibility of a cover-up. The case is still under investigation, and the CBI is expected to take further action based on the CFSL report's findings.
