Pushpa 2: The Rule, directed by Sukumar and starring Allu Arjun, has achieved significant success at the global box office, grossing over Rs 800 crore worldwide in just four days since its release on December 5, 2024. The film’s box office collections continue to grow, with analysts predicting that it will cross Rs 1,000 crore before the end of its first week in theatres. The film is performing exceptionally well in both domestic and international markets, with notable contributions from its Hindi version.
On December 8, 2024, Pushpa 2 grossed Rs 141.5 crore nett in India. Of this, the Hindi version contributed Rs 85 crore nett, while the Telugu version earned Rs 44 crore nett. The film also saw strong performances from its Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions, which earned Rs 9.5 crore, Rs 1.9 crore, and Rs 1.1 crore nett, respectively. These earnings brought the total Indian collection of Pushpa 2 to Rs 529.45 crore nett in four days. The Hindi version alone accounted for Rs 285.7 crore nett in this period.
The film continues the story of red sandalwood smuggling, with Allu Arjun reprising his role as Pushpa Raj. Rashmika Mandanna returns as Srivalli, and Fahadh Faasil plays the antagonist, Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat. The film also features Jagapathi Babu, Dhananjaya, Rao Ramesh, Sunil, and Anasuya Bharadwaj in key roles. Pushpa 2 builds on the success of its predecessor, Pushpa: The Rise (2021), further exploring the conflict surrounding smuggling and the characters’ complex dynamics.
Released in over 10,000 screens worldwide, Pushpa 2 is being screened in multiple languages, expanding its reach to international audiences. The film’s box office success has been particularly notable in markets with large South Indian diaspora populations. The widespread release across different languages and territories has contributed significantly to the global earnings.
As of now, Pushpa 2 has grossed Rs 529.45 crore nett in India and over Rs 800 crore worldwide. With its current trajectory, the film is set to surpass Rs 1,000 crore in global earnings before the end of its first week. This success places Pushpa 2 among the highest-grossing Indian films of 2024. The total collections continue to rise as the film remains a strong contender at the box office.
