Neeraj Chopra confirms participation in 'Diamond League' despite injury; Nadeem to miss out

Neeraj Chopra, the defending Olympic champion in men's javelin throw, secured a silver medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics, failing to retain his title. Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem clinched the gold with a remarkable throw of 92.97 meters, setting a new Olympic record. This historic achievement marked a significant moment in athletics, as Nadeem became the first Pakistani to win an Olympic gold in track and field.

Chopra is suffering from some injury but he confirmed his participation in the upcoming Lausanne Diamond League, his fifth competition of the season. Despite the injury concerns, he remains focused on competing at the highest level and is determined to maintain his form as he continues to represent India on the global stage.

After the Lausanne competition, the next event for men's javelin throw will be in Zurich. Following that, the final event will take place in Brussels over a week later. Only the top six athletes, based on points accumulated throughout the season, will qualify for the final.
