Man dies, 6 family members hospitalized in Birbhum after eating turtle meat
The husband of Shanti Das Basak, a prominent police officer posted at the Raj Bhavan in West Bengal, has been missing since Thursday. Shanti lodged a missing person report for her husband, Dipanjan Basak, at the Penro police station in Howrah on Friday morning.
Dipanjan Basak, who is associated with the acting industry, reportedly left home on Thursday, stating that he was heading to Howrah. When he did not return home by night, Shanti filed a police complaint and later shared his picture on social media, appealing for public assistance.
"My husband has been visibly upset for the past few days," Shanti revealed. "He seemed mentally disturbed and was not content with anything. I had planned to seek counseling for him, but now we just want him to return safely." Shanti Das Basak is a well-known figure in the Kolkata Police Department, having previously served in the Human Rights Commission and the CID branch. Currently, she is in charge of Raj Bhavan's security.
On social media, Shanti wrote: "My husband Dipanjan Basak is missing. Everyone in the family is extremely worried. If anyone has any information about him, please let us know." The police have initiated an investigation into the matter, with administrative officials and the Raj Bhavan being informed. Shanti has expressed hope that her husband will be found soon.
