Bangladeshi couple arrested in Bengal while trying to return without documents

A Bangladeshi couple was arrested on Friday night in the Ekola Bazaar area of Bagda, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, for attempting to return to Bangladesh without valid documents. The arrested individuals, identified as Dulal Sheikh and Parul Begum Mohammad, are from the Bagerhat district in Bangladesh. The couple had illegally entered India and had been working in another state. They were attempting to return to Bangladesh via the same unauthorized route when police apprehended them.

The couple’s presence near the India-Bangladesh border raised suspicion among local residents. After being notified, police arrived at the scene and conducted an initial inquiry. They asked the couple for identification and documents, but the couple could not produce any. During questioning, they claimed they had entered India for employment but had been planning to return to Bangladesh.
